Mind Maps for Open Source Urbanism

May 28, 2009 at Stipo, third gathering for open source urbanism, During the meeting we skyped with Janine Huizenga, art director of Waag Society. At the University of Central Lancashire Janine is developing the Cultural Mapping Project:

"The objective of the CMP is to develop a central planning tool that enables urban planners and citizens to work in close collaboration on the development and regeneration of Preston’s urban environment. Within the framework of the project, simple, creative media tools will be produced, which, in combination with specifically designed workshop formats, will enable citizens to participate actively in the sustainable urban regeneration process. The methodology, tools and workshops together form a re-usable blue-print for inclusive and creative urban regeneration which can be applied throughout the country"

Janine recommends us to go to 'Futur en Seine' programma in Paris. Her partner Andrew Bullen organizes

Next gathering is in three weeks (june 2009) in the atelier of Hetty van Bommel at the NDSM Wharf. We will work on a live case for the Buiksloterham, regeneration area between NDSM and Overhoeks opposite Amsterdam's Central Station.

In the mind maps made by Lara Simons (Stipo) you can follow our thoughts.
